At Cameron Hospital, October is All About Women’s Health.

You may know that October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. At Cameron Hospital, we take it a bit further with a month of activities and services that go beyond breast health to encompass women’s health in general.

Here’s a look at Women’s Health Month at Cameron Hospital for 2019.

Women’s Health Month Fundraising Events

Throughout the entire month, Cameron Memorial Community Hospital Foundation hosts several special events that help raise funds for preventative testing, including beast imaging, for women throughout our community.

Pinkout High School Football Game

The month started with a strong show of support with both teams of a local high school football game suiting up in special pink jerseys. The student sections were both also wearing pink and all the other fans were encourage to wear pink, too, to show support for breast cancer awareness and women’s health. Proceeds from the sale of pink t-shirts were donated to the Women’s Health initiative.

Pink Up the Pace 5K Fun Run/Walk

Staying active is a key to good health. So Cameron Hospital held a special Pink Up the Pace 5K for October. The fun event also raised money for the Women’s Center.

Pinkout Trine Thunder Hockey Game

The local university also showed support with a special Pinkout game. Players wore special pink jerseys and could bid on a jersey of their own thanks to a silent auction during the game. The game was a big hit with both the fans and the players.

Ladies’ Night Out – Thursday, October 24!!

There’s still time for you to join Cameron for the biggest event of the month! Wear your favorite pink outfit and get your best group of girlfriends together for a fun night out for a great cause. Held at the Eclectic Room, Ladies’ Night Out features dancing and music from local favorite Sierra Shame. For more information, check out our Women’s Health Event on Facebook.

Pink Sleeves Up Blood Drive

Cameron Hospital is challenging all women to come out and give blood during our October Pink Sleeves Up Blood Drive. It is common to need blood while undergoing chemotherapy for breast or ovarian cancer. You can make a real difference by donating. It’s easy and with Cameron’s mobile blood bank, it’s quick and convenient, too.
