Regional Cancer Care Center of Angola

The Regional Cancer Center of Angola brings some of the most advanced cancer treatment in the region to our community. Developed as a partnership between Cameron Memorial Community Hospital, Parkview Health System and Radiation Oncology Associates, the Regional Cancer Center of Angola brings powerful cancer treatment to our community, including chemotherapy, radiation therapy and BRMs (biological response modifiers). The Center features sophisticated technology, innovative treatments, the latest medications and an experienced staff of radiation and medical oncologists, radiation therapists and physicists, nurses, and other providers — all close to home.

Sophisticated Diagnostics

Using the latest technology and high-tech equipment, Cameron Hospital provides invaluable ancillary services for Cancer Center patients, including lab testing and diagnostics such as CT scans, MRIs, nuclear medicine scans, mammographies, ultrasounds and PET scans. Cameron also provides hands-on aftercare and home care so patients can stay close to home during recovery.

Technology

The Cancer Care Center continually evaluates its programs to ensure they provide the latest technology and treatment options. Examples of current cutting-edge technology include linear accelerator, which provides radiation therapy, and simulation and treatment planning, a sophisticated computer system that helps cancer specialists guide a beam of radiation through the body to pinpoint the tumor.

Clinical Research

In cooperation with the National Cancer Center and medical centers like the University of Chicago, the Regional Cancer Care Center of Angola participates in state and national research projects. The research brings the newest technology, procedures and medicines to patients and heightens the intellectual awareness of physicians and other health professionals.
